now. I see the compiled ethercat executable </span></font><font size=2

/etc/sysconfig Editor and I set Other -> etc -> sysconfig -> ethercat
-> MASTER0_DEVICE to ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff and I did the command /etc/init.d/ethercat
start. The output was “Starting EtherCAT master
devel done”.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

11.0pt'>Now I tried writing up a sample program, the one described in section
7.2.1 Using the Library. I wrote that program out and compiled it and
dynamically linked it according to the instructions given. The message I
get is “Failed to reserve master: No such device”.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
