[etherlab-announce] EtherCAT Master 1.4.0-rc1

Dear users of the IgH EtherCAT master,

I'm happy to announce the first release candidate of the EtherCAT master
version 1.4.0. It can be downloaded from:

http://etherlab.org/download/ethercat-1.4.0-rc1.tar.bz2.sig

All scheduled features for the 1.4.0 version have been implemented and
there are currently no known bugs. Have a look at the NEWS file for the
latest changes.

We are still in the test phase and waiting for the code to prove its
capabilities over time in a few projects, but I'm looking forward to
release this revision as the 1.4.0 version in the near future.

I'm really committed to the new interface and I would appreciate, if
some of you could participate by implementing the new interface in your
applications and return some feedback.
