Ok, then this slave does only support the delay measurement and can not
be used as a reference clock.

The only thing a master can do is to try if the system time offset
register is readable. If not, it has to mark the slave as type 2,
supporting only propagation delay measurement. I'll implement this.

BTW, what are the first 4 digits of the serial number printed on the
left side (2 dig. week, 2 dig. year)?
