Dear Etherlab developers,

We use the the Etherlab master library in our application. (see http://controls.diamond.ac.uk/downloads/support/ethercat/ ) .

I want to suppress error messages that go to stderr because we keep a console of the application running that floods with error messages in case of cabling problems.

The attached patch is a simple implementation I propose. The error codes should still be available to the application and the console in the application can still change the configuration at run time to see the more informative error messages.

Errors to stderr are suppressed using a global control variable ecrt_err_to_stderr and the fprintf statements are replaced with a macro.

I'd be glad to get your comments.

The patch was made against revision 2eff7c993a63+ (stable-1.5) from sourceforge.

Thanks,

Ronaldo
