if you refer to the EtherCAT master: Due to the master being a kernel
module offering a kernel-only interface also exported to non-GPL
modules, you may use it that way.
But note, that this topic is heavily discussed by linux developers. It's
the question whether linux kernel modules are a "derived work" in terms
of the GPL...
