A RealTek 8139C NIC costs about 5 €... ;-)

If I remember it right, it's still in a state where sending works, but
receiving not. Moreover it's still using the old device interface. There
are a few similarities to the e1000 driver, maybe you can have alook at
that...

Not up to now. eepro100 is the older version of e100, you should not use
it.

BTW, there is a difference between EtherLab and its EtherCAT master, see
