[etherlab-users] Inappropriate ioctl for device

Hi,
 
I just started to play around with EtherCAT master stack 1.5.
The stack is installed and running. When launching the user example I
receive the message:
 
Failed to request master 0: Inappropriate ioctl for device
 
any ideas what I did wrong?
