Hello all,

We have the next problem with EoE. After the start up the virtual netdevice for EoE like eoe0a6601 (static ip) it is not possible to restart the master.
The system get stuck during the master module "ec_master" is cleaned up with a message: "unregister_netdevice: waiting for eoe0a6601 to become free..." , so that hard restart is needed.

There are some cases:

System: debian lenny,  kernel 2.6.24.7, master 1.5-r1828 as module, nic e100pro.

Case 1: Multi user mode, eoe0a6601 up (ip static), ../ethercat restart -> system get stuck.

Case 2: Multi user mode, eoe0a6601 up (ip static), eoe0a6601 down, ../ethercat restart -> system get stuck.     
 
Case 3: Multi user mode, eoe0a6601 up (ip static), eoe0a6601 ip 0.0.0.0, eoe0a6601 down, ../ethercat restart -> system get stuck.

Case 4: Single user mode, eoe0a6601 up (ip static), ../ethercat restart -> system get stuck.

Case 5: Single user mode, eoe0a6601 up (ip static), eoe0a6601 down, ../ethercat restart -> system get stuck.

Just in the next case is possible to restart

Case 6: Single user mode, eoe0a6601 up (ip static), eoe0a6601 ip 0.0.0.0, eoe0a6601 down, /etc/init.d/ethercat restart.

Has someone an idea what's wrong?
