Hello everyone,

Thanks for the response, But I still have some questions.

The development environment I use is CentOS 6 (with kernel 2.6.18-371.e15),
Igh-1.4.0 and display on VMware player(I wonder if it's feasible by using
VMware player?)
Also, I followed Ethercat-1.4.0-pre.pdf chapter 9's steps, everything was
fine (I can got EtherCAT master 1.4.0 done message), but there still are
some questions:

1. In CentOS I can not use "insserv ethercat", so I used "chkconfig --add
ethercat" to start the service, are these two commands do the same thing?

2. I copied /opt/etherlab/etc/sysconfig/ethercat to
/etc/sysconfig/ethercat, and edited ethercat file like the following,

   MASTER0_DEVICE="ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff"
   DEVICE_MODULES="8139too"

but I am confused that what is the rule to choose the correct
"DEVICE_MODULES"?
Does it depend on something? or should I choose "generic"?
(By the way, If I chose e1000 or e100, the message would say fail, so I
chose 8139too.)

3. If I use VMware player to install IGH-EtherCAT, what are the additional
steps should I do?
(Ex: set the virtual network card)

4. When I command "/etc/init.d/ethercat status", the shell said "Master0
running".
However, when I command "/opt/etherlab/bin/ethercat master"
   the shell said

    Master0
    Phase: Idle
    Active: no
    Slaves: 0
    Ethernet devices:
      Main: ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff (attached)
        Link: UP
        Tx frames: 215608
        Rx frames: 0
        Lost frames: 215608
        Tx bytes: 12936480
        Tx errors: 0
        Tx frame rate [1/s]: 497 489 481
        Tx rate [KByte/s]: 29.1 28.7 28.2
        Loss rate [1/s]: 497 489 481
        Frame loss [%]: 100.0 100.0 100.0

      Backup: None.
      Distributed clocks:
      Reference clock: None
      Application time: 0
                      2000-01-01 00:00:00.000000000

I don't know how to activate the master, and how to connect to
slave(ET1100)? Thanks for help!
