Well that's true,

however in the rtai_rtdm example there are many functions and variables rtai specific. I modified the code to match that of dc_user example with the B synchronization way, however I'm not sure if my way it's correct, that's why I sent the email. So that a novel example could be written and established in the examples/dc_user.c, or at least, that the author of the change (Graeme) could give his example, code of SYNC_MASTER_TO_REF adopted to dc_user, in the mailing list.

Hi Mike, hi all,

Isn't the rtai_rtdm_dc example, with SYNC_MASTER_TO_REF macro enable, showing DC configured as in case B ?

Thanks
J-P

Subject: [etherlab-users] DC user example changed

Hi all,

I'm using the etherlab-1.5.2, kernel 4.9 preempt_rt patched and e1000e card, and I have developed my main program based on dc_user.c from examples. However I saw some posts from Graeme Foot that proposes a better solution to the problem of dc synchronization, with the first slave having the reference clock and the master altering it's application time based on the reference time of the first slave. Graeme, can you provide us with a functional dc_user.c example with the proper lines changed, so that I can understand better the B case you are talking about (The TwinCAT default way)? I searched for any implementation but couldn't find any.

Thanks in advance,
Mike
