Hello,

Cloned from https://gitlab.com/etherlab.org/ethercat.git and built,
following doc ยง9.2, on Ubuntu 22.04 with 5.15.0-1032-realtime #35-Ubuntu
SMP PREEMPT_RT usigned kernel.

lspci says I have an RTL-8111/8168/8411 with kernel driver r8169 in use.
Configuring with --enable-r8169 I am told that

> kernel 5.15 is not available for r8169 driver

so I stay with generic (what are the kernels available for r8169?)

Connected to an HBM ClipX with a tested cable.

After /etc/init.d/ethercat start, dmesg says:

> [54612.885417] EtherCAT: Master driver 1.6.0-rc1 unknown
> [54612.885622] EtherCAT: 1 master waiting for devices.

> [54643.618726] EtherCAT WARNING 0: 1 datagram UNMATCHED!
and so on.

Why are master driver and generic device module unknown?

What can be causing all those TIMED OUT and UNMATCHED? (I see some old
messages on this subject in the list, but not helping).

Thank you in advance for any hint and best regards
