[etherlab-users] EtherCAT master running on Linux with RT_PREEMP

Hi

Are there any plans to support linux with the rt-preempt patch, i.e. pure linux without an underlying nano-kernel like RTAI, XENOMAI or RTLINUX ?

The following scenarios would be possible but raise also new questions:

1. Realtime module as normal, realtime usermode application
- how to communicate with the Ethercat master kernel module?

2. EtherCAT master as normal, realtime usermode application
- how to communication with the ethernet devices?

Thanks
Martin
