[etherlab-users] EC kernel driver changes upstream merge?

Hi,

just a random question, were there attempts to submit the kernel network
driver changes upstream in some form, so that they're shipped in mainline
kernels at some point? Does that make sense and is it easily possible?
Was there such an attempt already, and if yes, did the kernel
maintainers have any objections or suggestions?
