[etherlab-users] No such device

Hello,
I think I have things almost figured out now. I see the compiled ethercat
executable /usr/bin/ethercat and I opened up Yast's /etc/sysconfig Editor
and I set Other -> etc -> sysconfig -> ethercat -> MASTER0_DEVICE to
ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff and I did the command /etc/init.d/ethercat start. The
output was "Starting EtherCAT master devel done".
Now I tried writing up a sample program, the one described in section 7.2.1
Using the Library. I wrote that program out and compiled it and dynamically
linked it according to the instructions given. The message I get is "Failed
to reserve master: No such device".
I searched the source code for the words "No such device" but I couldn't
find it.
Any idea how to solve this? My understanding is that I can make source
files like this one into the ethercat master of my choosing, right?
Thanks,
Jeff Krasky
