[etherlab-users] Problem with 'make modules_install'

Hello all,

when calling 'make modules_install' on by debian based system the modules were not copied to the correct location:

ls -l /lib/modules/
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096  3. Feb 09:16  2.6.26
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096  2. Feb 18:51  2.6.26-2-686

Instead of /lib/modules/2.6.26-2-686 they were copied to /lib/modules/2.6.26

Also 'make DESTDIR=/lib/modules/2.6.26-2-686 modules_install' does not work. It seems that the modules were not copied at all.

As workaround i copied the files manually using following command:
cp -r  /lib/modules/2.6.26/ethercat /lib/modules/2.6.26-2-686/

Is this a legal workaround or is there a better solultion?
